Ponderosa features multi-rate digital video boards that handle standard serial digital video signals including SMPTE 310M, SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 344M and DVB-ASI up to 540 Mbps along with HD serial digital video signals conforming to SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424 3G. n enabling Riedel’s acclaimed networked approach to signal distribution and routing, the 2-RU large-scale MediorNet MetroN Core Router provides intense real-time signal-routing capacity (32x10G/32x4.25G ports) and offers non-blocking switching.

MetroN provides robust video router functionality with switching delays of <40ms as well as high-speed re-routing that allows as many as 1,000 connections to be re-routed in less than a second. A single MetroN allows for building video routers with up to 192 HD-SDI and theoretically an unlimited number of outputs. Router control can be done with MediorWorks software as well as with most 3rd party control systems using the Probel or Ember+ protocol. The frame can function within a larger MediorNet installation, interfacing with other MediorNet frames via fiber.

The addition of the MetroN core router increases the bandwidth available across MediorNet networks. It is the first solution of the MediorNet family, where the connection is realized by means of 10G links. Up to 6 HD-SDI signals can be transmitted over one 10G connection. 3Gig Video
The NV5128-MC does not support 3Gig video. The NV5100MC frame does. The 3Gig I/O cards
are functionally similar to the new SWB cards, but the 3Gig cards also support 1080p.
3GIG 16-Input Backplane and Input Modules
The 3GIG input card accepts a wide range of data rates (3Gig, HD and SD).
The 3Gig backplanes contain active circuitry that performs cable equalization (up to 150 m).
The 3Gig input cards support 16 inputs. A 3Gig input card buffers the automatically equalized
inputs from the backplane and feeds the 16 input signals to the motherboard.
The 3Gig input backplanes have 16 BNC connectors.

Grass Valley Nvision EM0414 -00 -B1 Standby Clock Generator Control board for NV5100 MC frame.

The frame has 2 control card slots. A control card can be an EM0374 (router control card) or an
EM0414 (clock generator card). The EM0374 is required if (1) an MFR is present in the frame or
(2) an NV9000 router control system is connected.
The frame requires only one control card. A second control card is for redundancy. When a secondary
control card is present, the master control system will automatically switch to the secondary
card if the first one fails.
