General Info: Overview The DVS-V6464M is a 64 x 64 routing switcher for 525/625 component serial digital and NTSC/PAL composite serial digital video signals. Router control is by S-BUS and RS-422A. S-BUS is a highly sophisticated system, providing communication and tally management with BKS-R Series routing switcher control units, Sony DVS Series video switchers and so on. S-BUS also interfaces with third-party equipment. Among the many features that S-BUS supports are multi-level working, signal breakaway, phantom operation of crosspoints and tie-line management. Input, output and matrix boards are optional, so a matrix size of less than 64 x 64 can be specified initially, with additional boards being added when the number of sources and/or destinations rises. An RS-232C port is provided for ISR support and as a PC interface for router set up. Router data is maintained in memory by a 24-hour battery backup. The DVS-V6464 mounts in a standard 19-inch rack and is 10U high.

In addition to those discussed on the previous pages, features of the NV6128 include: • Dual output connectors to reduce DA requirements. • Optional redundant power supplies. • Optional secondary control. Designed around a novel high speed crosspoint architecture, each router can handle data rates from 3 Megabits per second to more than 1.5 Gigabits per second. We call this capability “Super Wideband” (SWB). The crosspoint structure is combined with SDI or SWB input/output modules to accommodate SDI and/or SWB data rates within the same frame, at the same time. With unique equalizers, reclockers, and cable drivers, the router passes pathological signals at both SDI and HD-SDI data rates. No signal inversion of the primary outputs takes place, which is essential for systems handling DVB-ASI data streams since DVBASI is 8B/10B coded and cannot be inverted. Secondary outputs are inverted. Input and output modules are available for SDI (143, 177, 270, and 360 Mbits) and Super Wideband (3 Mbits/sec to 1.5 Gbits) data rates.
